Nov 27th 1944...........

SAG 1 ....(Kongo, Takao, Mikuma and escorts)......moved into Kuching harbour..........and encountered an Allied SAG.....(Portland, Biloxi and escorts)......Portland was hit by accurate fire from the flagship....with at least 6 14-inch hits.....and many of lesser caliber....and sank ....then ensued a savage close range DD action..........I lost Kari outright....then allies lost 2-DDs with Four heavy damaged..........I lost another DD on the way out.....and Kongo was hit by 2 bombs........causing little damage.............

Otherwise Speedy bombed the living wahoo out of me across the map.....

Our Penguin Brother may be down, but that doesn't mean he can't give Speedy's shins a vicious nibbling...[:D]

Like a fly buzzing around an Elephant.......I make my mark.........I'm not sure Speedy noticed.........

28th November 1944........

Speedy sent a CVE group after SAG 1.....but just caught one of my damaged destroyers.....and sank her......

Another of my crippled DDs was caught by planes out of Jessleton......and also hit......she will sink....I think......

Evidently, he noticed. Nobody ignores the loss of a heavy cruiser.

Applause for your continuing ability to put up a fight! [&o]

Lighting up the Home Islands

Speedy is out-posting you at the moment. Can't we at least get a comment about the Imperialists' latest descent into war crimes? (According to Speedy's AAR, he's started some impressive fires.)

In the U.S., it would be called salaried exempt (meaning the labor laws don't apply)
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

I can't blame you for not posting for a while: from Speedy's AAR, the news is depressing. But is there any chance of an end-of-1944 summary?

Thanks for your view of the situation. The bright side is, judging from the score, you can hold out for months and months before the victory conditions kick in.

Jan 7th 1945...............

Speedy carries on gobbling up the Solomans with from what I can see are individual rifle companies..........for the last three turn I had moved 4 sqdrns of bombers to Rabaul to hit his ships....as only the main TF is covered by a CVE group.....but alas the weather didn't clear........UNTIL TODAY.........warm sunshine greeted my flying penguins.......ready to re-live the heady early days of the war by attacking unescoted transports.......but then the sky darkened once more......as 333 Superforts......fill'd the heavens....ok, enough of the bad prose.......all that I have left of the 4 bomber groups....are smouldering wrecks.......it does make me feel that Matrix have hard-coded a dislike fro penguins into the game.............

Otherwise a quiet turn.......with Speedy, I'm sure plotting.......where will he move from Indochina.......I'm sure he will try and flank Hanoi.......
