Anyone Know How to Place Abandoned Units?

I would like to place a couple abandoned tanks in the Tarawa campaign. I know how to place destroyed units, but I thought abandoned would be an interesting choice as well.
I know they had some abandoned units in LV at the beginning of a scenario...but I haven't been able to locate how did they did it? Is it a trade secret?
Anyway, was just wondering.

Hi Orzel Bialy,

start your scenario (1st turn), then hit the "9" key for abandoning the vehicles in question and mve the rew at least one hex away. Save your game (scenario-first turn). Leave SPWAW (or ALT-TAB out), Rename your just saved games from save*.dat to scen*.dat and copy the renamed ssave game back into your SCen folder. Now you can edit the crews and abondoned vehicles in SPWAW ingame editor to your liking.
