Japanese style houses in Invasion America Campaigns?

Put this on the list for the patch; changing it so that when you play the Rising Sun scenarios or campaigns involving a US invasion, they have european style houses in the zoom 3d view instead of japanese pagoda style.

This campaign was designed prior to the implentation of the additional terrain graphics.

But, yes, you are correct. The maps should be revised.

I suggested doing something about this for East Front2 a few months ago. Maybe something like the Close Combat "mod swap" would work for the CS. It would allow on the fly swapping of graphics files prior to loading the game. For example, you would have a modded "North American style architecture" bmp file that could temporarily overwrite the stock one.

Although it would be even better to have it patched to have the correct look to each area...

I had a look at the bmps for the 3D terrain. If the scens are for a California invasion, NWE is too Euro with steep peaked roofs, Med is best but everthing has a red tiled roof.

I'll see if I can throw something together this weekend that can be swapped with JSGME.

Now that the rsmap.exe has W. European and Mediterranean terrain you can use them for the USA. If you really want to you could customize those palletes bmps for the USA. Make one of the buildings the LA City hall, another the Hollywood sign, like that. :^)

The existing maps could be remade identically but with the WF W. Europe pallete and renamed like the old ones. The existing LCG should then be able to use it.
