The battle for Irau is in day 17 and Miller struggles to find a way and stop the Allied Hemorraging. Anything he puts on there I´ll bleed white. He can bomb me until the wings fall off his bombers but he´ll never bomb me out of supplies. If after 30 days and 3,000 bombing sorties I`m not out of supplies....then I`m not running out. Back to the drawing board for my friend Miller. Japanese continue to attack.

The battle for Irau has ended after 22 days fighting. The final body count...

Japanese/7806
Allies/6751

Make no mistake. This is an Allied bloodbath and a very favorable exchange rate for the Japanese. The Allies can ill afford such ground losses.

To accomplish my friend Miller brought near 40,000 men and every single bomber he had to eject less than 20,000 Japanese.

The losses in the battle at sea were incredibly high for the Allies as well and his ship loss count shows this.

108 Allied ships of all types have been sunk.

The important break down....

Carriers-5
Battleships-1
Heavy Cruisers-9
Light Cruisers-4
Destroyers-32
APD-4
AV-3
DMS-1
SS-3
AP/AK-33
AO-1

Paul says he must rest until after the new year now. Hmmmm...I don´t think there is much of a choice considering the Allied fleet has been totally crippled. [:D]

He still he thinks he will bomb me to rubble.[:-]

I think he will have enough trouble supplying 40,000 men on Irau now and less time for bombing me to rubble. [:D]

The Japanese are closing in on a 6,000 point lead.[;)]

True, Miller suffered serious losses. However, taking an island (especially the always critical Irau) w/o a cv fleet is no mean feat, regardless of the casualties. Most of his surface fleet losses will be replaced although later rather than sooner. Enjoying the aar.

Hi anarchy, he had a CV fleet. I just got very luck with a Japanese submarine. Then his remaining 2 came under Land based bomber and my carrier air attack simultaneously. So I´ve had a lot of breaks so far.

40 Allied AP/AK have been sunk and the number is still rising.

There are over 115 Allied ships sunk.

I don´t know, what do you think? Seems I´ve crippled him for quite a while. He can still come back but I think he is having some big problems here.

Hmmm....oh well.[8|]

It is incredible for me to believe but Miller is accusing me of cheating in our game.[&:] How this would be, considering all this stuff is hard coded and I`m not a good friend of Mr Grigsby or a close family member I do not know, but...he claims it.

Very well then. It´s a shame but I know exactly where this is going. I also believe I know where this game was going and think so does he.

But it doesn´t matter. I forfeit this game. He can have the win if it´s so important for him to say I´m cheating.[8|]

The password for my game with Miller is....

¨19421942¨

He can go through and look at all my turns and see all my moves. If anyone else would like my turns, now that I exposed my password I`ll be happy to email them. There is no ¨trick¨. I just know how to get the most out of the Japanese side because that´s the only side I´ve ever played. Seems I should write a Japanese strategy guide and post it on ¨RougesUSMC¨ site or something though.[:D]

So Miller wins this one although I´m a bit dissappointed.[:(] It really was quite the clash.

If anyone else would like to tell me ¨Japan cannot win on points¨ and wishes to throw down the glove too I´ll be glad to pick it up.

tunasalad4u@yahoo.com

My record now stands at 1 win with 2 losses.

Hi Mario. In the e-mail I sent you I did not accuse you of cheating. Why would I want to spoil the game just when its getting interesting. I would like to continue but as you have revealed your password I do not think thats possible now.

Rather than continue this on the forum I will send you a PM to see of we can sort this out.

Well let`s keep this civil Paul because the issue you bring up is important not just in this game but every PBEM in UV/WITP game ever played and will be played.

It is not possible for the Japanese or Allied players to re-run turns to get different results. Not possible. I´ve never seen it, I´ve never heard of it. I´ve never seen a forum thread addressing this issue.

If it were possible...well, the entire integrity of UV/WITP PBEM games would be out the window.

You didn´t accuse me of cheating? I don´t know what else you call it? You told me my carriers didn´t attack your transports so I re-ran the turn to make them attack your transports. It is not possible to do this.

If this is possible...well, like I said, competitive PBEM is over in UV/WITP.

Hi Mario. Yes it was a while ago but it did happen. I ran a turn as the IJN and during a carrier battle one of my CVs was sunk and others suffered minor damage. For some reason I had to re-run the turn. This time however instead of having one carrier sunk, I had none sunk but most of them were heavily damaged. I re-ran this turn several more times and the result was one or the other (therefore two possible outcomes).

The reason I suspected something was up (as I have explained to you off forum) is because the combat replay I viewed and report you sent did not match. As to why it has happened I do not know. I wish I had said nothing now as the errors were no big deal, but I have and there is no going back to this game now as you have revealed your password. I just wish we could have disscussed this before you decided to bring it onto the forum.

But to suggest I am calling you a cheat because I am behind in the game is not fair. There was still a long way to go and anything could have happened. Perhaps there is someway we could continue, is there anyway to change a password mid game?

If this is the end of the game then I wish you well and hope you find another opponent soon, I am sure you will give them a very hard battle. Cheers.

Can anyone else claim it is possible to re-run turns for different results? I´ve never seen it but if Miller has such strong conviction about it....anyone else?

If this is true (I do suspect it isn´t but could be wrong) then I, or any Japanese player can re-run his turn and get the turn he likes, then modify the combat report text file to match. The Allied player would never know.

So anyone else to confirm this?

If true I forfeit all my PBEM games right now because as explained above PBEM security is compromised and there is no point in playing PBEM.

I suspsect this is not true. This game has been out 5 years and I´ve never heard of re running turns to change results.

Just lovely how you put this.

I can think of several reasons right now. There is sync bug if the players have different settings that has been reported. I´m in several other PBEM right now, the open source ¨combat text¨ file gets rewrote everytime combat takes place in the game. I may have taken another players turn after yours, sent my turn to you and you got another persons combat report.

But changing combat results....

Not Possible.

That file is saved and hard coded and everyone knows this.

Hi Paul. Well it would be a bit unfair considering you have seen all my stuff now. [:D]

But really though...If you think I can re-run my turns to get the combat results I like, then change my text file to match what would be the point? [&:]

Win/Lose or draw one can always say...¨ehhh, he changed his combat results.¨

Anything could have happened in this game yes. I will play you another game but you must drop this thing about re running turns to change results.

It is not possible.

If you really believe it is, like I said, what´s the point?

It's been several years since I've played, worked on, or followed the UV bug status. For that reason it's hard for me to remember what issues we've had with PBEM cheating or the replay. I vaguely recall that there was a problem with the replay and the actual turn not matching up, but I don't recall any problems with players being able to rerun their turns to get different results. I agree with Ike99 that if this were the case we'd have heard about it from UV, WitP or WPO players. If someone can confirm that they can get different results by rerunning PBEM turns, please post here.

I suggest everyone remain civil and let's see if we can get some confirmation that there is a problem. If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to post a question on the WitP forum as to whether anyone has experienced this problem since their are more WitP players than UV players these days.
