More 1948 NFL Action

Post by Old Coach »

Attached are some pictures from a another game from my 1948 NFL simulation. The Chicago Cardinals traveled to Green Bay and soundly defeated the Packers 35-14. Both teams' records are now even at 1-1.

Next up on my sim will be the Chicago Bears traveling to Texaco Field to play the Houston Oilers.

I play all games in the 2 player mode. Sometimes, I have someone to play against, but often I play against myself. I call the plays for both teams.

quick question, if you are playing against yourself do you pick the play first for the offense or defense?  Just wondering how you made it fair (as fair as things need to be for a computer)

I pick the play for the offense first and then I pick one of my generic defenses to counter it. I usually will flip a coin to determine if I use a man defense or zone. It works out fairly well. The main thing I've done to get realistic results is modifying player ratings. I've spent a lot of time in that area. That comes from my days playing FBPRO 98.
