Why Do I always fall for this stuff?

I saw that the 1.03 patch was available and like an idiot I installed it. Now the game won't get past the initial screen where you select play.
So if you are logging bugs, here is one. I know that I can't prove it but I have never had any trouble with the game until now. So if this is useful info good.
I know I learned(relearned) something from this experience....never be first.

the 1.03 patch was advertised as a BETA patch for owners of the Slitherine version of the game so it is not a final release so it is downloaders beware!
 
you can reinstall the game in a different folder so it is possible to have version 1.2 and 1.3.

Try reinstalling the patch to start with - maybe something just failed to copy over.

Do you get to the main menu? After I installed the patch the game would launch a message saying that there was an error with my serial number, so the game doesn't even launch to me.

I'm using Windows XP.

Hello to all,

I am eating crow right now. I had put that mod on from one of the posters aw while back. I unistalled the whole game and did a clean install and patch. Everything works fine. Sorry about the previous whine. It was my fault not the patch.

Good to hear, MemoryLeak. We've been unable to confirm any issue with the 1.03 update installer we posted and Windows XP. Vista is a different story, but Vista has also been unsupported since launch since we've had trouble getting 1.00 to run on our Windows Vista test system.

Ok I resolved the problem unintalling and reinstalling the game then applying patch 1.02 and its hotfix and afterwards 1.03 (have XP)
When I got the error in the image I had not applied hotfix patch 1.02
It's all I can tell, hope its useful.
Bty does patch 1.03 comprehend the fixes in 1.02? Can it be applied directly?
