RHS 5.78 Comprehensive (and final) release: w pwhex and utilities

Post by el cid again »

This is (we hope) the last update for Level 5 RHS scenarios. It requires use of a new pwhex set (5.797) - which is released with it. It also lines up with a 5.78 version of the RHS Economic Utility spreadsheets (one for standard scenarios, one for EOS and AIO).

This product is - as close as can be - at the same level as 7.78 and 6.78 - previously released. Except for things "off the map" - all the same scenarios and orders of battle are here. It is the first version of RHS, and as such it uses Andrew Brown's Extended Map system: although we changed coding and art - just about everything is in the same place. One difference - we moved Exmouth - to show better it is at the very NW tip of Australia.

This file set fixes the J7W1 to have only one engine, fixes Regina (CANADA) to be a fully functional supply source,
moves a town at the Northern tip of Sumatra and connects it by trail to the Northern Sumatra railroad - which is slightly shorter than it used to be (because the RR is slightly shorter IRL). Kendari is not moved from its CHS/stock location - but hexside coding requires ships approach from the right direction now. A careful review of seacoasts has changed a number of hex and especially hexside codings - to help the AI and players in a technical sense "get it more right."

There is also a comprehensive set of eratta of all types folded in. These were detected by utilities run by WITPQS, reported on the Forum or privately, or detected by me playing myself in human vs human games (because I can see things a utility might not understand as an error). Virtually all of them are pretty minor - but nevertheless they are all addressed. There were not a lot of them either - so the indications are this data is pretty clean.

Unless something important comes along - this is intended to be the final release for Level 5 (as 6.78 is intended to be final for Level 6). However, if we ever get that revised EOS plane art - or if we ever need to change ship art pointers to work with ship art - we will do microupdates - so the set is able to use art in common with Level 7.
