Control of hexes

Post by James Ward »

I have noticed that if I march a British Corp from Dunkirk to Verdun all the hexes it marches through turn to British controlled. I know you can trade control of conquered territory to your allies this way but does it affect their home territory also?

I have noticed this too which is somewhat strange [&:]

But apparently resource hexes are only counted toward the home country in which the hex lies and not the "hex owner".

I hope so.

Wouldn't want to starve France while trying to save her! [:)]

Conquered resources go to whoever control the hex as shown by the flag - home country resources always go to the home country - unless they are conquered of course!

You do have to watch what happens to non home country resources, though.

In my last game...I carelessly lost many turns of resources, due to Bulgars being the last to trod over them in my Central Powers conquest of the Balkans. As best I can determine, resources controlled by a friendly minor are useless.

Does control of a previously conquered hex revert back to the original owner if that side recaptures the hex regadless of who actually takes it back?
If the hex industry in it and it is destroyed when captured does the indusrty come back when you retake the hex?

No

If the hex in question has been formally handed over to Country A, such as due to a surrender then yes.  Otherwise no.

that confuses me[&:]

Surely if a country has surrendered then it can't get any of its resources back because it is out of the game?
