Changsha falls

Post by marky »

Entry 14 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 4

The war continues to go well for us. Changsha fell to our forces yesterday, and Yenen shall fall soon. The enemy appears to be launching a counter attack on our left flank, near Canton, so troops are being sent west to join in the defense. Later they will counter attack and meet up with the troops from Changsha, and cut off the chinese in a giant pincer, or at least attempt to do so. The Imperial Guards are advancing south through Malaya, and will soon join the attack forces there, we should have more than 50000 troops heading south down the western coast. We will land base forces at Khota Bahru, and dominate the air ovewr the peninsula.

The convoys for Wake are a few days away, Nagumos carriers will strike tomorrow and soften the island up a bit in preperation for the second invasion. Additional troops will soon land at Aparri, and drive south and west on Clark Field. Once Singapore falls the troops from the Malayan campaign will head west and cut the "Burma Road" i think they call it, and we shall encircle and crush China once and for all!

Entry # 5

Ive been giving some thought to our future operations, and i think that we shouldnt go after every island near Hawaii, just Midway and perhaps Johnston, and bypass Palmyra. But where do we land in Hawaii? And if we truly want to win the war, should we not go for this rumored "United States" base? Surely if we invade and occupy the west coast America will sue for peace. Perhaps even if Hawaii falls to our forces they will sue for peace.

We cannot allow this to be a long war. We must strike hard, and fast. We must not hit and run we must hit and STAY. We must obliterate the US Pacific Fleet, sink their carriers, and invade and occupy Hawaii and the West coast of America. But how? Surely it would take all of our own carriers, and it would be a tremendous gamble. But the Americans will never be as weak as they are now, they will only get stronger...

Entry 16 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 6

Wake island fell to our forces yesterday, though we took heavy damage to several ships. One of our freighters had to be scuttled. The troops are preparing to reembark their transports for the invasion of Midway. A convoy sailed yesterday for Rabaul, with 25000 combat troops. This should be more than enough to overwhelmn the light enemy forces there.

Yenen still holds against our forces, though reinforcements are beginning to arrive. Its only a matter of time before it falls to the Imperial Army. The Chinese seem to be launching a counter attack against our center, i am bringing sending troops to stop them. The 55th Division and the Imperial Guards have nearly reached Alor Star, once they do the British and Allied forces will be swept aside like dead leaves before an angry wind....

Entry 18 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 7

Oh, Yesterday was a busy day, i didnt even have time to write an entry. After i was done reading reports and issuing new orders at the end of the day all i had the energy to do was fall into bed, i dont even remember my head hitting the pillow. Oh, what a day it was today too!

The Allies continue to hold us back at Alor Star but this will soon change as our reinforcements are beginning to arrive. Today our ASW forces sank an American submarine, or they believed it was American. And our navy bombers sank a British destroyer that had escaped from Hong Kong, she will no longer serve the British king!

The Chinese continue to somehow hold our forces back at Yenen, but this should change tomorrow as well, there are now over 130000 imperial troops laying siege to Yenen, and they attack tomorrow. We have our first airfield in the Philippines as well, at Aparri, they struck Cagayen today and destroyed several enemy bombers.

Once Yenen falls we will press the Chinese on their left flank and threaten Chungking, and once that happens the enemy will pull their forces back to defend it, which will only weaken them and allow us to easily advance and take his major cities, along, eventually, with Chungking itself.

Entry 20 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 8

Today there was a routine comm check with I-26. She didnt answer, the message was sent repeatedly, but she never transmitted back. its been 8 hours now and still no reply. I-26 was northeast of Pearl Harbor, searching for cripples and the American carriers. She is presumed lost with all hands. I-19 reports her float plane was lost in its recon of Pearl Harbor, but she reports that an American carrier was present, but they are unsure if it is still docked.

In China, Yenen STILL holds against us somehow, despite being outnumbered by our troops, and our troops being vastly superior to theirs, including supplies and equipment. Additional troops are being sent, and bombers will be brought up as well along with fighters. In Malaya the Allied lines are beginning to crumble under our attacks. Soon they will drive south through Malaya and take Singapore.

Alor Star falls

Post by marky »

Entry 21 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 9

Alor Star fell to our forces today, the enemy withdrew to Georgetown. Im sending the Armored and most of the infantry on ahead to Taiping, while one of our brigades heads for Georgetown to trap the Allied forces there. We are also advancing into Burma, we have an infantry division and a regiment spearheading the advance, though i must say i forget which units they are, so many to remember its almost impossible!

Yenen continues to hold against us, so i ordered Bettys and Nells up to Wuhan to provide ground support along with about 20 Zeroes, and ive ordered our forces there to make a heavy bombardment with all their artillery, i believe they have somewhere around 2000 guns! The Chinese forces there will have an interesting day ahead...

The Wake force has nearly completed reembarking the South Seas detachment and supporting forces, they will head for Midway, followed by Johnson, once the base support forces catch up. Then naval bombers will be transferred in to attack Pearl Harbor once again. Im sure the enemy will deploy his carriers then! And then we will CRUSH them!

Entry 26 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 10

The last few days have been busy, and chaotic. In Malaya the Allied lines are crumbling and our forces, spearheaded by the Imperial Guards and two other divisions, are slicing south towards Singapore. The enemy has withdrawn from Kuantan, so the 18th Division is advancing south, and then west, where they will link up with our main drive south.

In China the enemy still holds us at Yemen, though more and more troops are arriving, and several divisions from Manchukuo are being sent to help. Ive ordered another round of bombardment by their guns, which number around 2000.

In Burma we are advancing towards Rangoon. Once it is taken they will advance towards Mandalay, in preperation for the eventual invasion of India.

Midway fell today to the South Seas Detachment, they are being reembarked for Johnston, theyll sail when the base forces catch up, theyre near Kwajalein. Once theyre there Bettys will be transferred in, to attack the port, along possibly with Nagumos carriers. This should flush out the American carriers for a decisive battle to help us gain control of the waters around Hawaii, for the eventual invasion.

Kuala Lumpur falls

Post by marky »

Entry 27 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 11

Kuala Lumpur fell to our forces today. They continue their march south towards Singapore.

We are making preperations to land 25000 Imperial troops on Mindanao, they will be escorted and protected by Ryujo and Zuiho, with heavy and light cruisers and destroyers screening them and providing naval gunfire support.

The South Seas detachment is being reembarked on their transports, while Nagumo makes a high speed attack run on Johnston Island, recon has spotted a small convoy to the east of the island, and i dont intend to let them get away. Nagumo will also soften up the island in preperation for landing, then regroup with the transports for the landings, and the carriers will provide cover until the air field is ready for our planes.

There are now nearly 200000 imperial troops besieging Yenen, and it still holds, though almost 100000 more troops are heading to support them, i wonder what it will take to crack this rather hard nut.

Entry 29 December 1941
Diary of Admiral Markiei CinC Imperial Japanese Navy
Entry # 12

Another chaotic several days. Nagumos carriers crushed 2 American ASW forces near Johnston Island. I must now assumew that the Americans know hes in the area. the invasion force is nearly ready and will soon set sail, with Nagumo providing cover.

The advance south through Malay continues, Singapore is less than 200 miles south of our forces. I anticipate they will arrive in perhaps a week or 2.

Nearly all the northern and northeastern Philippines is in our posession, and our forces are advancing on Clark Field. 3 more divisions are being sent from Kagoshima.

The Mindanao operation is nearly ready to begin, our light carriers will support it.

In China Yenen still holds somehow, ive yet to figure out how, but additional divisions are on their way. There are nearly 180000 Imperial troops at Yenen.
