Bio-Editor

Post by desert »

I am trying to edit a scenario using the equipment editor, but it won't recognize the .sce file. I would ask how to convert .sce into .exe, but I think I may just be missing something simple here. Am I?

Scenario files (.SCE) can't be loaded in the Bio-Ed. You must either create your equipment list manually or load the old ACOW .exe (bioed won't recognize the new TOAW III exe) and modify it. Once you're done you need to save your file in xml format then rename the extension as .eqp.

desert,

You use notepad to the create it. Just type in the lines shown and then save the file as COW.REG. Be aware that there is a sticky on the forum which you need to read to make sure that you have typed everything correctly.

It's top of the page in the support forum. I would provide a link but I don't know how to do that.

Ok, I got it all working. I used Ralph Trickey's "Test". Thanks for your help everyone.

One more question: If you accidentally use "Open With..." on a program, how do you reset it so that the computer doesn't know what to open it with again?

Sorry for all the questions.

Desert,

Sorry but I don't understand the question. Which program did you use "Open With..." on?

Sorry for all the questions.

There should be a checkbox in the 'open with' dialogue.

Yes, but that is only good if you want to open it with another program. Here is what I have: http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/8412/whatimtryingtogetridofgu3.png

Here is what it needs to look like: http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/6602/noprogramforopeningyc2.jpg

How do you do that?

You basically save it as .eqp instead of .xml I guess.

Yeah. Just change the file ending. You'll get a warning, but ignore it.
