ARTY tube selection question

Post by Major SNAFU_M »

Hi all,

In the Artillery management T.O.T. article above one of the ideas mentioned is to de-select one (or more) of the tubes in a battery for various reasons.

Where, in the game interface, do you select/de-select individual tubes from an ARTY battery?

This isn't mentioned in the first Artillery tutorial.

Last question, the first Arty tutorial mentions that there is a second Arty tutorial. Where may one find this second tutorial?

In the Bombardment menu, click on the eyeball looking thing next to the gun you wish to alter, then see the green text with weapons name, right click on it, it should turn red, meaning its "off"
dont forget to turn it back on later though!!

LOL! I was confused about why one should always keep an off-board arty tube in reserve for each battery. It's a coding bug. If one becomes disabled, they ALL become disabled, UNLESS one is clicked "off". This is a good common-sense rule, even if it was unintentional.

Anyway, arty tutorial #2 should be nothing more than this: employ saturation fire on a selected decisive point or an identified enemy arty position! Scattering fire all over the map isn't very efficient.

What else? Oh, yeah -- those reserve guns will come in handy later.

So to be sure I get this:

If I see 4 entries for 155mm in the list each entry is for 1 tube, and not for 1 battery?

Does this hold true for all calibers and types? e.g. if I have 10 mortar batteries, I would see 10 entries in the list with each entry equaling 1 mortar tube?

If you see 4 entries it is an Off board battery, each entry (per gun) is for one tube.
On board units will show only one tube.
