I'm just wondering about why the game is more expensive to download for Canadians than Americans. Is it possible for a Canadian to pay in US dollars and download it to Canada?

Right, but in that case the game should be less in Canadian dollars, not more. Currently, the Canadian price is 41 dollars but the US price is 40 dollars. The Canadian price should be about 38.50 according to the exchange rate. But if I can just pay in US dollars, then it's not a problem.

Wow...I just copied the information I posted, I didn't realize that the Canadian $ overtook the US $.  For many years the Canadian dollar was weaker than the US dollar, probably to the point where both Canadians and Americans assumed it was still true.  With physical goods I can understand why a product would be more expensive in Canada (increased shipping).

Your dollar sure has changed . Last time i was in canada [2000] it was 140 to our 1 dollar , knew then i should have bought more sports atuff at roger centre..Gee i got maybe 50 dollars around here still . ouch

Yeah, the dollar increase has been kinda fun for those of us paid in Canadian dollars . . . except when we go to buy, for example, a book and the US price is still listed as about 30% less than the Canadian price. I've heard a lot of Canadians are now heading south across the border to buy cars. Now with the difference in the exchange rate, they're sometimes as much as 50% cheaper down there.

The Canadian dollar reached par with the US dollar two or three weeks ago. It overtook it shortly afterwards. According to economic types here, nobody should be surprised to see the Canadian dollar hit $1.10 US within the month.

I think it's very safe to say that most Canadians know exactly where our dollar is in relation to other countries, especially the US. Politics, the value of our currency, and hockey are pretty much the top three topics of conversation in this country. (Not necessarily in that order).

But for the base question, I'm afraid that is something you would need to ask matrix about directly. The pricing and payment system is not something I have much say in so there's not much I can do to help here.

With cars, it's not just the exchange rate. The US retail market for cars appears to be much more competitive than it is up here. A colleague of mine drove 5+ hours to the US to save $12K (Canadian) on a SUV earlier this year. I don't remember exactly what the exchange rate was at the time, but it wasn't anywhere near par.

This is because the U.S. Dollar is weak.
 
Chinese, European, and Canadian banks hold a lot of the T-Bills that the United States has been printing like toilet paper.

This is because the U.S. Dollar is weak.

And the Canadian economy is the best it's been in 20+ years. Our unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in eons. A problematic US currency is only a part of it.

I applaud the good fortunes of any nation, particularly Canada and Mexico. A strong continent benefits all.
