Almost every axis objective in this scenario gives occupation VP's and where the enemy is gaining occupation VP from an objective, the Victory Meter will often show an over-optimistic picture of your situation, even at the end.

You show well over 100 points gained on your objective display, but you only get counted for 100 points max. But you are still rewarded for the surplus in that you have denied the axis these points.

However, the Axis need only to have accumulated between 50 and 84 points to strip you of a decisive victory.

Even though Valetta doesn't appear to stand out as a big VP winner, it's a real biggie for the Axis. The briefing tells you that it is your primary objective and it's not kidding!

Thanks for the answer, simovitch.

In other words, I was not fast enough and let them get their occupation points. However I see all bars almost fully white - aren't they also too optimistic?

I agree that in this situation those white bars will provide a false sence of security - and cause a player who feels flush with victory to become indignant with a marginal result.

It is really up to the breifing to tell you that 'time is of the essence', but the nature of occupation VP's should tell the experienced player with the superior (attacking) force that he needs to get as many units as possible to within the objective perimeters to first deny accumulation of VP's by the defender. Then proceed to systematically gain control of them for yourself.
