ROY Error

Post by Mike5 »

I was going through the free agent signing process and I came across this young SS with great ratings and I noticed that he won the rookie of the year award the prior year. Currently a player is considered to be a rookie, and thus eligible for the award, if the player has accumulated in prior seasons fewer than 130 at bats. This player, David Oyer, did have less than 130 ab's in 2014 but in all prior years he totaled 200 ab's prior to 2015, this should have disqualified him from winning the award.

Just as an FYI, I went through the Free Agent Signing process and not one team signed this guy, so I picked him up after he reduced his contract demands. I signed him for 5 years at $2,704,536 per season. About half of the teams had enough money to sign him at his original contract demands.

I just bought the game and haven't played it yet so I have no idea what I'm talking about, but.......

Based on the screenshot is Havana a minor league team?  If so, those at bats wouldn't count.

Nevermind - I was looking at games palyed not at bats.....

I think your right that he should not be eligible, but the reason is not because he totaled 200 AB's prior to 2015, but because he spent more than 45 days on the teams active roster (obviously, unless he played in 88 games and got 146 AB's in less than 45 days [:)] )
