That's quite old. It's also been subsequently reported that it's not correct. Every year the teams get together to brain storm ideas for league and team promotions. The idea is to blue sky. One of the ideas thrown out was purchasing an NFL team to allow for cross promotion. There has never been any serious attempt.

It sounds like there WILL be a regular season game played in Canada in the near future, but that would be two teams visiting for a week, playing here, then leaving (much like the game happening later this year in London, England). Toronto and Edmonton seem to be the front runners, as they have the biggest stadiums. Toronto is getting a push from Ralph Wilson, Edmonton from Pat Bowlen (he comes from here).

I DID read a new spin on things regarding the Bills, with the possibility floated by somebody higher up in the team hierarchy to have the Bills split their home games between Buffalo and Toronto, much like Green Bay did for a time between G. Bay and Milwaukee.

The Buffalo Bills ownership has asked the NFL if they could play some of their home games in Toronto.

It would be nice if the NFL recognized that northern border teams could have a cross market in Canada.

I'd like to see Minnesota Vikings promotion in Manitoba, as well as Winnipeg Blue Bombers promotion in Minnesota.

Well, its official....Bills will play 8 regular season games in the Rogers center over the next 5 years. Since Ralphs got 5 yrs left on his lease in Erie county and the fact he probably wont live more than 5 yrs, there is a strong possibility that Rogers and Tannenbaum will greedily buy up the Bills before Ralphs corpse is cold. For those who dont know, Ralph has repeatedly stated he will not sell the team while he breathes, but fully expects his family to sell. Bye bye Bills. Just a question of time. At least I'm lucky to be a fan of the Browns and the Ti-Cats so when the time comes i will drop all loyalties to the Toronto Bills and go with the other two.

As a fan of football in general, not simply the NFL, I'd actually think it would be great for the game if A TEAM (not necessarily the Bills) in the NFL would be established in Canada. However, I really don't prefer to see NFL teams move cities at all anymore - that has happened way too often over the past 20 years. That being said, I don't think any more than 17 or so people would mind if the Cardinals left Arizona for Vancouver (imagine the Seahawks / Cardinals rivalry!). Either that, or maybe yet another expansion....no, forget I said it, the 'Couver Cards would be FANTASTIC. [:)]
