Serious bug with Bandit attacks in 1.10 !

Post by PDiFolco »

Hello
Twice today I observed Bandits rolling 9+9 on an "Evaded" attack, but game indicated a miss where it should have been a kill ! [X(]. Now my Hornets seems indestructible [:D]

This occured only since I used 1.10 beta. I did maybe miss other less shocking oddities on enemy dice roll results (maybe SAM attacks are affected too). Friendly attacks are ok though.

Sorry I was unable to get a screenshot fast enough (the on-screen results only appear for 3 seconds or so...).[:(]

This is strange. I've been playing and my hornets get damaged/destroyed by bandits just fine when I evade.

Which campaign/difficulty were you playing?

I've gotten this too, but pre beta patch. For me and perhaps others I get a little fuzzy sometimes on exactly what die roll would be a hit.. like if you have multiple pods and (not sure how many stack) isnt there a point where 9 could be a miss or no? Might be hard for some to even report as an error... I know I've never really been sure whether this was a bug or not.

One thing that would be helpful either way is to correct the status messages. They are always based on the first roll it seems, so even if the first roll is a miss and the second, third whatever hits itll say missed. Same with pretty much any status message in game.

I have seen it a few times too - and was never quite sure if the number being shown was before modifiers or after... but there were some cases where the number should be a kill or stress+1 but it said miss. Seen it in recent Iraq and Libya Conflicts.

Is that number shown the "after" modified roll or not?

It should be after all mods, but i'll check to be sure about the pods and modifiers that way.

I was playing Average diff, so no special modifiers, and didn't have any pods (heavy and mostly useless...). 9+9 should have been a kill, it was Mig-25s and 29s.
Maybe it was because I started the campaign in 1.00 and continued after patching  to 1.10 ?
BTW it should be useful to see the die roll and the modifiers instead of just the final result. Currently you can't see anywhere what mods will apply to any given attack.

There can be up to 5-6 modifiers, and there wouldn't be room to display them all on the screen. [:)]
