Steel and I had the best team game I've been in yet last night. We had 4 custom lights and 2 recons vs the level 3 AI's Firedrake, Leopard, swift death, wolfpack, dart, duelliste(mod),and hammer. It took us 5 hours and the gallant sacrifice of Steel's manager to survive. On the other hand I think that Steel now has the only green pilot in teamplay :) Game ended at 0200 my time and I am now officially sleep depraved :)

PS: (when building your team leader (human female works well) build their leadership to 61 because it is a level break and makes possible a better class of recruit) charisma 12 can usually accomplish this.

You can take that even furthur. Use the 2nd jock you hire and build their business skill, Use the 3rd jock to build your damage control skill (mechanic). Your titans will be cheaper and making replacements/repairs will also be cheaper.

That was some Battle, I seemed like they were coming out of the woodworks thats for sure, Thought we saw em all then POP another would show up from nowhere. That was a great fight considering the losses could have been so so much worse. I know Hetz was giving all his mechs a good washing before the fighting started to heat up and I think that may have boosted his Jocks morale :) . Now have a new Replacement for Jax (Business manager) (Plays Trumpets and sends Jax's corpse (whats left of it) into space) His name is Popez Begon and Hopefully he will be able to fill Jax's shoes in fighting and buyin :) He looks Promising only time will tell. Cyan Gidd (Leader and newly Promoted to green) Is still going to be using his DelSabre (which is well used and abused) He does have a new Sabre Model that is in Contruction that will take advantage of his Promotion But that will be awhile since he loves using his DelSabre(Light Mech) and since the new model is still in contruction. Styx (Mechanic) Got way to drunk after last nights Battle and finding out that he gets to Use Jax's old Mech(Sniff poor Jax) and ended up breaking the Recon all setup for new recruit Popez :( All in all a good day

Nice you two had fun. How did you setup the game ? Did you use a third computer for AI ? Otherwise the host could see the AI from the beginning, right ?

I had also fun playing ToS WS beta yesterday with a buddy hotseat. We also lost one jock, a rookie as well as two other titans and had to do a hard fallback fighting as the AI was relentlessly pressing us. Our team did consist of a mix of higly professional veterans on heavy or assault titans and some new recruits on lights. The new AI pathfinding did a good job on hunting us.

PEEK! MOI? Larkin, why are you even bothering to ask? Against AI two levels up with with brand new jocks I would have called in kinetic energy strikes from orbit if I could have :) of course I peeked :p

(long and pregnant silence while a lightbulb begins to ignite slowly in author's head..........) You know Larkin, that having to play against the AI is beneath you and since I like to see that my friends are always treated with the respect that they deserve... anytime that you find yourself without sufficient players I would be glad to fill in for you (look of noble self sacrifice).........just send me a beta and let me know when you need me (sound of muffled panting and drooling) you know me, I'm always glad to help out a friend in need

Steel and I played another game last night (for all of you euro-types he lives in Hawaii and I'm now getting a small taste of what you go through to play me). Our same teams vs Musketeer (piloted by some low mercenary type named Hetzer) 2 lights (Blunderbuss and TwoShooter) and 3 recons. Truth, Justice and Orbital Surveilence again prevailed over experience and artificial stupidity :)

hetz, you know larkin would rather send the beta to me than to you. considering your age i'm not sure you'll make it to it's release...
j/k, hetz you deserve it, i still can't use the computer so i wouldn't be able to beta test it. sides, you have a (pardon the pun) vicious bite and could probably kick my *** if you didn't have a crutch.

Death to Hetzer? Is that what you're saying? In Titans of Steel:Warring Suns I can imagine entire planets repeating this mantra. Is it possible that Hetz is one of the Demon Princes? An Interstellar Bandit that has redefined the notions of Evil as his Squad of Titans invades and destroys the peace of the galaxy with only us good guys (o.k. don't laugh) to stop him?

us good guys, im sure.
in this case the "good guys" would probably be the nubes who haven't figured out how to win yet (i.e. don't know how to be evil).

Well grats to Larna Hetz's newly promoted jock to Green status!!! So far we have been coming out of the Fights alive and winning. My new Business Manager Pope Begon aka Pop's is doing a fine job Buying and Fighting and now has a new Light mech to play with. Cyan Gidd's DelSabre v.M Medium mech was finally finished and he seems to be very Happy with it :). Newest Recruit to the Team is Katz Light and she is doing a great job Piloting Cyan's old Mech. I'am Wondering where everyone else is? Hetz and I having a lot of fun playing but We would love to have more around to join in :)

with Marga.

I am having too much fun playing through the Titans of Steel:Warring Suns campaigns. They have renewed my love for Tos beyond my expectations. There are so many improvements to the game that I can't even list them all. But between the automove, new AI routines and definable AI behaviors (by the map creator), as well as ingame terrain changes, Geez, the list goes on and on.

Of course, I will try to be online for a tosv1.4 game once a week or so.

Ah well, and I am kept busy due to having a private life. Or not. Or sometimes, but not much. Or sometimes all too much. Or something in between.
Let's call it troubled times. :)

And Anathema's Angels will be back with a vengeance for all those headshots the AI delivered to me...
In the radiated smoke, the engines burned brightly and lit the darkness like a thousand fireflies.

speaking of such things (the team legue play that is) i came up with two formulas recently, one for the ranking of teams, and the other for the ranking of individual jocks.
sometime tomorrow when i have time to find them, i'll post them. however realize that it will require ppl sending the ranker their teams regularly, and a lot of math, for them to be implemented. i'd like to see that tho.

Thanks; I'll have a look at my saved teams. I have an innocent team all ready, but there's hardly ever anyone on-line at the same time as me ... at least, according to the ICQ display.

Newly-created teams of Firestorm and I went down ignominiously yesterday to two Inferior AI teams. We clustered round a War God, hammering away at its adamantine armour ... (the WG caught my first attacker .. a Fate's Finger, with Auto 4 and 7 .. a couple of times with a pulse laser, so I moved him away to a hill-side as a spotter for other enemies. After a lot of attention from Firestorm and I, the War God was disabled, so we ran east to get close in to the enemy, who were concealed in woods on the other side of a stream. As we reached the base of the hill where the Fate's Finger was standing, it exploded under attack. We were all damaged (one of mine lost a leg), and decided to run for the border. We'll be back (in my case, with a leaderless team of two!).

IF you think that was bad, just wait until you discover the ambushes of Warring Suns. There is no bigger thrill then having several enemy titans all walk into view at the same time while they lock targets. Usually, I say 'Oh Sh*t' but you can use whatever language suits.
