North Korea High Scores

Post by Veldor »

So whose had the guts to play North Korea on something higher than Average difficulty? I think I'm gonna give it a go... What are your highest scores average or otherwise? I played this one straight through no game-reload cheating..

I did a 62 on Skilled and a 43 on Ace.  See the After Action Reports forum for proof.

Same here. My best is a 42 on Average (I'm not counting the 55 on Newbie[:D])...

The Ace level was insane.  You have to try it.  I am going to try it in Iraq next, but I bet I get my ass shot off before the war is half over.

I think I'll work my way up to it. I'm still at a point where North Korea, War length at Average difficulty, will cost me 5 or 6 pilots... [:D]

Yup. Just goes to show that a "cheap" game can be much more addictive than many expensive ones. Just keep being drawn back to Hornet Leader somehow...[&o][:D]

I've got all but one mission in North Korea licked. For some reason I just can't figure out a good tactic for the government buildings one (The one with 11). It kicks my butt everytime. So on ACE I decided Id cheat? Well not really cheating but I decided Id do that mission last so I wouldnt have to care if all my pilots came out of it with unmanangeable stress and or dead :) In reality though you still have to do pretty well leading up to that. I had lost one pilot and 2 others were unusable due to too high stress.

So I went in with only 8 pilots and pulled it off with only one more pilot loss and well yeah extremely high stress (so many bandits in that one!). So this definitely would have blew my score if done in the middle of the campaign (even though I won the mission).

So, in the end on ACE.. I scored just below my highest on Average.. A 58.

Gonna go back to Iraq and see if I can improve on my Poor scores there now :)

Oh, for those that do want to try ace, a possible tip that really made the difference for me...

Just cuz a mission says you can take 4, 6, or 8 pilots doesnt mean you have too.

It really helps with stress levels if you take far less. In some cases I only took 3 in for a 6 mission etc.

Then you have plenty for the big missions which really are only 4 or 5 key missions out of 18.
