Any Hong Konger here?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Any Hong Konger here?

Post by Saviola »

I am a devoted player of SPWAW who live in Hong Kong. As you guys may not know, computers are SO common here, needless to say, PC games are very popular in HK. However, I just wonder if there is anyone (out of 8millions!) in Hong Kong play this great combat simulation. I am so frustrated to learn that many players here only play those so called 'fantastic' games, such as Empire Earth, RA2, FIFA2002...They totally neglected such games with depth.( I have no intention to say anything bad about those games... but EE really sucks...where are those gametesters?) I hope I won't be the only one in HK who play SPWAW...:(

Just curious, did you happen to go to secondary school in Kowloon??

(sorry, I don't live in HK myself, just a lot of friends from the area...)

well Nakatpase if you are that curious, I used to go to secondary school in Kowloon, in fact in that scale, HK is only divided into three districts: Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories...I lived in NT and study in Kowloon.:)

I have already anticipitated that I would be the only gamer in HK who play SPWAW, just wanna voice the 'cheap' taste of the gamers here in HK...(won't play MOHAA, CS, just R6 all the time...)

Universality

I think you guys demonstrate just how widespread this game is. Think of yourselves as the first SPWAWer in your area and start to spread the news. I enjoy playing opponents on the other side of the world. The more the merrier (and bloodier!)

Asia player ?

Post by ThomasKN »

I agree Drex... the more the bloodier :D
but somehow, as Saviola has said before, in Asia region, apparently, most of the gamers are attracted only to the most modern games like saviola has mentioned...

Everytime I mentioned Steel Panthers to my singaporean / indonesian friends... the best response that I got is "Oh..no, numbers..too many numbers... I cannot relax by playing that " ... :p

Well..the heck with what they said...all I know I enjoy steel panthers very much (starting with steel panthers 3)...it's the only games that can make me go back into it after so many years, and the only one that can make me awake until 6 am in the morning.. ;) (okie, I admit..plus 10 cups of coffee :p)

Don't give up on them. after all, they represent your future opponents. If you have the mega-campaigns you can use those to sell them on the game. for me the pbem aspect of SPWAW sells the game. Its so playable between two or more people and realistic to boot. This game will stay around for a long time. good luck. BTW, the leagues over at WarfareHq.com should start soon. Hope to play you there.
