Jumping carriers

Post by mingohh »

Hi
I have the IJN carrier jumping hexes, a patrolplane from Enterprice found Nagumo and suddenly the Red carrier jump hexes around this plane while their airgroup were close to US forces
the US carrier cant navigate while airgrup is on raid but the IJN does, is this commend in the game for others or [&:] it also happens when i sent surface forces to intercept the enemy carrierforce even when there is a patrolcraft over them and their airgroup is homecomming. I Have the new patch 1,1 install.
I have tried reinstall and play without mods and the same result accurd. In the Wake Midway and Phillipines scenarios.
and i dont understand why carriers cant navigate while strikegrupps are away because this i commond that there is a navigting point the planes can meet the carriers this is done in briefing before combat fligth because your carrier will head to a point away from enemy sighting in a preset heading estimated from airgrup radius.

You only know the exact location of your own Task Groups. The location of all enemy forces is only known through sighting reports, which all have a margin for error. So enemy forces are not jumping around, but the reports of their locations are. Sighting reports do get more accurate over time, but are always subject to some degree of error.

We had a long discussion about allowing carrier TGs to manouver after launching aircraft, but we couldn't determine an easy to implement mechanism that wouldn't be easily exploited by the user.
