Free Agent Period Running Long Time

Has anyone had problems with the free agent period running for an incredibly long period of time? Once I try to start the period it begins to run and run and run. It takes at least 3 or 4 minutes for the process to increment 1%.

When I checked my running processes my CPU all the resources were being used up! I am running version 1.70c.

I just finished the 3rd year of my association. I remember the previous off seasons took a while but this is ridiculous.

It will just kill me if something happened to my association. I manage game by game and counting the playoffs I have managed over 500 games.
