allied opponent wanted CLOSED

Post by dennishe »

I'm playing two PBEM games. Unfortunately one of them has computer problems and that game is on hold for a while. And only one game is too little to get this addiction going. Anyway, I was planning to start another anyway. This time I want to play the Japanese for the first time. I play stock 1.804 with my other opponents. Unless someone tells my how to play different mods at the same time, I prefer to play the stock game. I'm looking for a not too experienced player. I can do several turns in the weekends and occasionally some during the week.

How about a Nik 9.2b game? I am a not experienced Allied player. I do know the Japanese extensively and would be willing to give you some advice. I need another game to amuse myself with.

You can play Nik with nothing special, but I am patched to 1.806...........but I can check my 2nd install to see what version it is running?

I prefer to stick with 1.804. I don't know what happens when I update and my opponents not. If you somehow can play 1.804, that would be great. Let me quickly look up what Nik 9.2b is.

Mainly it is air to air changes and such. The air war is not nearly as bloody and there is really no such thing as "uberCAP" with this mod. Every air strike can be doom.

I have 1.804 loaded on my 2nd install. Care to discuss ground rules?

Feel free to email me at

acproincdsm@verizon.net

I prefer........................

Allied only orders to ships at sea turn 1..............
No 2E to 4E for allied
1 port attack turn 1
No serious abuse of warp move turn 1
non historical start
PDU's on
No landing on Java or southern Borneo turn 1
No rounding Malaya turn 1. Feel free to go after turn 1
No CV hunt on turn 1...........this can work both ways in Nikmod (I have sunk 4 IJN cv's on turn 1 before)

Other than that........I do not care what Japan does..........

I will look for the turn in about 48 hours....................LOL[:D]

Just joking..............I check very regularly......but be warned.........Japan can be tricky. Be very careful with industry changes.............think hard about them before you do it...............you can crash your economy. Go small changes at a time. No massive changes at once. Supply is very critical as Japan. Allies get it free. You have to make it.

I agree with your houserules. I prefer sub doctrine off. Nothing gamey. I never played with a non historical start. Give me a while to come up with a plan/first turn. I think those 48 hours are not too unrealistic. [:D] Don't expect too much before. Let me see how you start a PBEM game.

You start one just like normal...................set all the dip swtiches.

Sub doc off both sides
Damage control on
Surprise on

You can choose the rest of them...............Feel free to go with historical start if you want to. Does not matter to me........I prefer non hostorical start as Japan......it allows you to rapidly shift alot of troops that are just sitting around. And allows them to alot of the time....be halfway to where you want them on turn 2. Great for 2nd wave targets within a week of war start.

Basically, pick PBEM.............pick scen (42) IIRC. then you will input you password.
When you finish your first turn, save to slot. Send me the save. After turn 1, you will send me combat save, 01 and save slot. 3 files.

It will be a conservative non historical start. I'm almost done with my turn. I will send it to you later.

I will be here. I average 1 turn a day at the slowest (unless I inform you prior......work and all) but average much more than that.
