I played the boardgame version of this to death so I thought I'd download the demo to see if the old magic was still there.

Started the installation only to see that my 2yo £1500 widescreen laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Minimum screenheight resolution of 1024. And mine is 900.

I applaud the move to more 'modern' resolutions but, looking at the screenshots, this is one game I'd have thought could have benefited from more scalable resolutions.

Oops. Just spotted the sticky above. Ignore me. I'll wait for the patch.

Can anyone confirm that the demo will also be updated if the patch changes the available resolutions?

If a patch changes reses, the demo should be updated, yes.
