So where's the turn? Russia sits there - a ripe fruit waiting to be plucked - and you are just sitting on the turn? Let's get R done!
I thought "someone" said this was going to be a slow paced game on the backburner behind the other PBEM games already in progress. Does anyone know who this could be??[:D][:D]
Oh - the writing says AM 94. That's the radio station for Tokyo Rose... The station purchased advertising rights in an attempt to boost their ratings. Most of my Japanese troops don't speak english but they like the music. [:'(]
Eh... I think you know this. But this particular aircraft actually belonged to communist chienese army, back in 1931... These writing means "Lenin", so it seems somewhat ironic...
<laughter> Nope - I was totally clueless. I think Nemo said these are aircraft pressed into service by Japan and were part of the Thia Air Force from B4 Thialand "joined" Japan. To tell the truth, I thought they were French aircraft...

Patience, my young Jedi, patience.
Turn in your in box.
Ahhh - A fan of Star Wars. You do not knoooow the power of the Dark Side Michael... Come, submit to Imperial Japan, and we shall rule the world. <Grin>
So this must be some kind of Chinese torture - huh? I'm @ work and don't get off until 5pm... And I do have a turn for Scott that I need to process first... <laughter>
Actually I just want to see how many subs I sink <grin>.
You can date yourself by what cliche others know about or laught at. I've worked with teenager for the last 5 years. While at a Residential Treatment Center as a Counselor, I would say to them, "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a ..." and they would just look funny at me. Now, in my office, other co-workers who are closer to my age laugh when I tell our office manager (who is her early 40's), "One of these days, Alice, one of the days." Referring to the Honeymooners. The young kids in their 20's just look at us funny. [:D]
Ask your kids about 8 tracks or what a "45" is?? [8|] Star Wars came out while I was at Naval Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Ill. Had no idea what all the fuss was about until I got to go home for leave. [&:]

Ahhh - 1980 - I was doing boot @ Fort Lost-in-the-Woods Misery. Oakland won the Super Bowl, and The Wall by Pink Floyd was totally off the hook. Dem were the Dayz...[:D] U know we R starting to sound like old-folk... I mean - bell-bottoms were on the way out in the 80s - came back and now are on the way out again. And now we'll be all into this game and in December/January they're gunna come up with a new (Promised-not-toTell) of WiTP and we're gunna be drooling like kidz...
Michael--for goodness sakes--get me the first turn back! How hard is it to tell all your (only appropriate ones PLEASE) units to RUN AWAY!??
Other Michael (1 Eyed)--My Father managed the Drive-In theatre and downtown theatre in Waynesville just right outside of that FINE Army camp! Have many fond memories of watching the army blow things up while the civilians got to watch.
This Mod (RHS) is REALLY something. I feel like I am playing a whole new game. 1Eyed Michael---I will start a new AAR for our game. Jump over and we can.....aaaahhhhh....CHAT....that's it....
Member: Treaty, Reluctant Admiral and Between the Storms Mod Team.
So I've sent the txt files and the 001 to Michael - and I probably won't get the turn to him until Thursday or Friday. I wanted him to have a chance to look over the Combat Report and give him every opportunity to plot and scheme <laughter>.
I'm getting ready to goto work but I wanted to share with you one battle over Vladivostok. Check this out:

Yeah the Yak 1s, MiG-3s and even LaGG-3s are very good airplanes indeed and attacking them with Nates and Claudes is asking for a massacre. The Soviet air force is pretty good. Even with 50 Exp pilots in MiG-3s over Rangoon I'm managing to hold my own against jagdfluger. These pilots you are facing are significantly better than 50 Exp ( although their experience will quickly fall as losses occur ).
John Dillworth: "I had GreyJoy check my spelling and he said it was fine."
Well, that's that settled then.

Sure - now you tell me... I had a 7:2 ratio in fighters and those Yaks spanked me. I guess all I did was create a target-rich environemt... [:D]
Most Soviet fighters are fast and fast fighters vs slow fighters = lopsided kill ratios. Any chance of posting the full combatreport?
Maybe 2night after I take my son tricker-treating <grin>. Of course if Michael sees this he might get to it earlier. Right now I've got to get in the rest of my work day - TTFN.
The peace of the world, especially in the Pacific, has been shattered by the sound of falling bombs and ships landing troops without notice. The nations around the Pacific will take up arms and throw the Imperialist invaders into the ocean (or local sewer system). It just may take some time. [:D]

You would not believe the number of subs between Manila and Vladivostok... It looks like there are twice as many subs in Russia as in the PI... Between the two bases I think I sunk 20-25 subs. It just sent shivers down my spine thinking of all of those damned subs basically sitting in Japan's backyard.
With the house rules I could either hit Russia now with suprise or give Michael all sorts of time to prepare for me to hit Russia (I think it was 30 days notice - right Michael?). And if I let Russia move their shipping out of harms way - it just wasn't a pretty picture in my mind's eye...
A lot of the Russian ports have high resources plus some oil... And it's all close to home - closer then Palembang 4 sure...
What are the pilot pools like in this mod Mike? Will the other Michael have to put up with many days of PH attacks like I did in our Iron Storm game?
This is a snipet from Nemo121 in his AAR (I so love cut-n-paste <grin>)
The Japanese get 216 x 65 Exp pilots (IJN) and 150 x 60 Exp pilots ( IJA). The Allies get about three times that number but some are very low experience. Here are the figures;
65 Exp pilots: USN -200
60 Exp pilots: US Army - 400, USMC - 100, British-80,
55 Exp pilots: Oz - 25, Kiwi - 10, Indian - 25, Commonwealth - 10, Canada -25.
40 Exp: Soviet - 100,
35 Exp pilots: Chinese 10.
So, overall, the Japanese get slightly more 65 Exp pilots in their navy ( 216 per month vs 200 ) BUT lose out badly once the army air forces get involved, 150 x 65 Exp pilots vs 580 x 65 Exp Allied pilots. Throw in another 100 or so 55 Exp pilots and you can see that the IJN can pretty much hold its own but if the Allies choose to attrition the Japanese using their army air force then they are going to have 4:1 odds in their favour. If the Allied player goes in with his navy without such attrition then the Japanese player will handily defeat him ( but I think that's how it should be ). Also don't forget that the Japanese can use their 65 and 60 Exp pilots to fill out their fighter units only --- using supply training to train 30 Exp bomber pilots whereas the Allies will tend to "waste" 60 Exp pilots in bomber formations AND will lose pilots to rotation policies also.
As to the possibility of multiple attacks at PH, Michael has played me B4... <grin> In truth, I hit you with more attacks @ PH then was intended due to the 2-day turns we play.
I may need to start calling you, Mr Octopus, as your tentacles are trying to be everywhere. [:D][:D]
I think my military commanders have been taking notes on this "Blitzkrieg concept" they picked up while at a technology forum they attended at Germany... Japan purchased some new designs from Germany (man can those guys build planes!).[:D]
