Great game / a few suggestions

Post by MrMox »

What a great game! Not only great but actually fun to play which is more than can be said of a lot of games [;)]

The mandatory nitpicks/suggestions:

1)
I run on Vista. When starting the game I get a UAC warning about an unidentified program (prompt looks similar to this one (for another program): UAC warning). I guess it's because AT wants to run with administrative rights? Is there a way to avoid the prompt?

2)
End of turn brings a prompt asking if I really want to end my turn. I wouldn't mind seeing that prompt gone.

3)
In the scenario selection dialog it would be nice if it remembered the last directory I had used.

I presume you are running Vista?

Problem 1 could be eliminated, presumably, by right clicking on the shortcut and "Run as Administrator". There are alot of things you have to do that for under Vista. Bloody annoying when your account is Administrator anyway.

I have Visual Studio 2005 .NET installed on my Vista Laptop and I have to right click and run as administrator even though I have an administrative login!

Well, I found a way around the UAC prompt:

Fire up regedit, navigate to
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

and change
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin" to "0" (default is 2).

What this does is to elevate programs that require administrator rights silently for administrative users. Btw. if you change the value to 1 you still get the UAC prompt and also has to type in your password.

Obviously I take no responsibility what-so-ever for any ill-effects this might have...
