Why am I keep looking forward to play this game ?

Advanced Tactics is a versatile turn-based strategy system that gives gamers the chance to wage almost any battle in any time period. The initial release focuses on World War II and includes a number of historical scenarios as well as a full editor! This forum supports both the original Advanced Tactics and the new and improved Advanced Tactics: Gold Edition.

Just so you all know I'm not speaking bad about THIS particular game. I liked PT and I'm pretty sure I will like this as well. I'm more relating to the realism that is for most all games these days. Broken out of the box, needs several patches and I won't give 2 cents for them until they are finished patching. Thas all. ;) But, the NEWITUS Syndrome does exist, it's all over the world, something new and people flock to it and being addicted to buying games is as much of a reality as alcohol, just ask any psycholigist. I'm just not one of them I'm happy to say (anymoe lol).

Remember the first sign of being addicted to something is DENYing that you are. :)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

ravinhood - By the same token, my post wasn't a dig at you per se. It was an observation (complete with smilies). I knew where you were coming from and I disagreed with you, still do in fact.

The thing is, your argument is seriously flawed. By not buying software until it's patched, you are part of the problem. There is no such thing as software without bugs. It's the end users who find the ones that beta testers inevitably miss. This game is by no means broken and most of the problems have been minor or fixed very quickly.

If we all waited for software to be patched before buying, we wouldn't have an OS. You run Windows, don't you? I rest my case.

Again, just my 2p worth [:D]

Regards,
Jim
2nd Lt. George Rice: Looks like you guys are going to be surrounded.
Richard Winters: We're paratroopers, Lieutenant, we're supposed to be surrounded.

Actually it's those like you with your thinking WHO ARE THE PROBLEM because as long as you keep paying for crap out of the box businesses are going to keep selling it to you. You try to place the problem on those who would FIX it by having publishers and developers put more time into the product and not release such crap that is BROKEN time and time again. So it is I really who rest the truthful case of the matter. You look at things with blind eyes and that is the problem. ;)

Of course just my 2cents also[:D]

I know this is not the most macho thing to say, but I love this game.  I can't think of the last time a game allowed so much flexibility and realism at the same time.  You can do almost anything with this game, if you are of moderate intelligence.  If you are a true member of the computer language society, then you can do absolutely anything with this game.

This game is just great.  It was worth the wait.

Sorry Ravin, but this is not Newitis.  This is simply one of the greatest games, ever.  It really does have something for everybody.  The greatest part will come in about a years time.  That is when the scenario bank will be full of downloadable scenarios.  I am predicting at 100 of them.

Banquet, the 10x10 patch is the only thing that has been missing for me. I would appreciate if you could show me how to get it.

William, you just go into the 'members' menu at the top of the Matrix webpage. Log in there and then I think you go into 'private downloads' for AT.

Make sure you've registered your serial number first. Somewhere in the members pages there is an option to do that if you haven't already. Once done you can grab the patch and then setup random battles at 10*10 hexes :)
