Post by bernadotte »

Hi,
I looked but couldnt find the answer with the search utility. I am playing stock Scenario #15 v Japan AI. I have Cv Saratoga docked at Midway. No damage. She has 128 a/c on board(90 Capacity). MS414(100). I have 50 xP-39D Aircobras that i wish to transfer to Midway, but it doesnt show on any bare list and wont let me transfer them . What am I missing/doing wrong here.

Thanks in Advance.

Unless you take some aircraft off, you can't transfer that many (50) aircraft onto the carrier.

Yes but you put to many planes to allow fly ops, didn't you?

If they are already onboard, you should be able to FLY them off (won't be able to run normal ops as Fishbed pointed out).

How are you trying to transfer the P-39s? Are you in port? What command are they assigned to?

Bernadotte, the planes aren't on any base list, but rather on the carrier Saratoga. What you need to do is to open up the TF screen, then open the Saratoga screen whch should list all the aircraft sqaudrons aboard the Sara. You then click on the P-39 units name, opening that unit's screen. You should then click on the "transfer to base" option, which should only offer Midway as a target if the CVTF is docked. I'm not positive, but am pretty sure that with that many aircraft aboard the Saratoga you cannot fly them off the carrier but have to transfer them while the TF (ship) is docked.

Brad,
Thats the problem. There is nothing shown as a transfer target/destination when I select the p-39d sqdn to transfer. The CV TF is docked already, ansd has been for 2 days now.

milman,
Your correct in saying the P-39's are not trained/capable. i was trying to move them fromeither PH or USA West coast to reinforce Midway airpower. I* was tring to use CV Saratoga jsut to transport them. Now they are stuck !!!
No one told the pilots they cant land on a CV ?
I will have to reload a saved turn from a while back.

Thanks to all

I can't recreate the situation where the P-39's can be loaded, so I'm not sure how the P-39's got there in the first place. I was able to force a CV into a transport fleet by first forming CVTF then changing it to a transport; but even then I couldn't load aircraft.

Try changing the command of the P-39's to SE pacific or another unrestricted command...

wild_Willie2,
Your advice cured it. I changed the Hq of the P-39's from USA West Coast to Central Pacific and off they flew to Midway base all ready for action.

Many thanks to everyone.

Great Forum.....Great Player Support.....Great Game !!!!
