Combat Air Patrol (CAP)

Post by Preuss »

Hi, Guys
I have a few questions as I get deeper into my pbem games. I'd appreciate any help you could give:)

1. CAP...does choosing this option help or change anything at all? I generally use the Escort function since my bomber crews are often busy with interdiction or airfield attacks.

2. How can I increase my Intelligence in regard to seeing the opposing forces? I find myself amazed at the number of corps I run into while manuevering that I hadn't seen while plotting.

3. Is there a formula to increasing the experience level of air units? Are there any critieria to meet besides choosing the Training option to ensure that units improve?

Well, that's it for now.

Thanks in advance

Best wishes,

Gary

Air groups set to Escort will only fly CAP at half strength. Putting them on CAP means they intercept at full strength.

This is calculated based on the number of planes you have nearby. I don't believe there is any overt act you can do to improve the chances of detection (besides moving more air units to the front).

I don;t know what the formula is. Besides the training mission, bombers will gain experience on bombing missions, and fighters will gain experience in combat. Right now there is a loophole allowing fighters to gain experience escorting transport missions, but this will be closed soon. The intent is to allow fighters to gain experience only from combat and the training mission.
