Playbooks

Post by armyofone »

Just wondering what some of you guys is the most realistic producing playbook to use?

I just "watch" the games and don't actually play or coach them. What I'm trying to do is create a league where I act as the commissioner and the owner of one of the franchises. I'm trying to get it to produce normal NFL stats.

I've read somewhere the "fun and gun" playbook is very good for getting normal stats. Do you guys agree with that statement?

Thanks for any advice

I think that the default playbooks are fairly well balanced. I cant speak for how close they may get you to NFL stats, but I think that they are good books to use.

I use the default books and downloaded books for teams in my leagues, and the Fun and Gun definately can hold up against the user made stuff. Especially if you add some situations and balance it a bit.

As always, quarter length, playclock, and properly matched team profiles and playbooks can make a big difference.

I have just about completed a default 43 defensive playbook for 11 man pro style leagues.   It is partly due to the great work of SEC21!  It has defensive profiles for all major offensive personnel packages (2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE; 1 RB, 3 WR; etc..). The profiles have special man2man coverages for each specific package.   It is primarily a cover 2 defense with multiple pass rushes for cover 2.  I have moved the DBs and LBs off the line of scrimmage to improve pursuit on outside runs.
It includes a couple of common offensive packages (kneel plays and profiles; short yardage plays).

To use it you can import default offensives playbooks.  I have a 3 rb playbook (mostly a pro-style flexbone), a pro style (thank you SEC21), and a Ladder formation like my older playbooks.
