Invasion Amerika

Post by desert »

Turn 1

WAR! The treacherous Germany invades America, going against their peace treaty. President Kennedy is in denial, reportedly locked in the Oval Office, exclaiming "Hitler would never attack us!" on the radio as German soldiers march through the streets of Boston and Long Island. The German 7th Luftwaffe Division has practically encircled Philadelphia, although their hasty and ill-organized assault was beaten back with heavy losses to the enemy by the prepared and valiant defenders.

Armor and recon of the U.S. 6th Army has attacked German positions to the south of the Pennsylvanian capital, breaking through with ease, and providing much-needed relief to the city's defenders. Washington is in a state of panic, and men entrench themselves further. There are unconfirmed reports by patrol boats and fishermen that the German Navy is some miles off the coast of Norfolk. Canada is as of now remaining neutral. The commander of the 6th Army waits for the Nazis' next move.

The Germans land the rest of their force at Boston. After many hours of determined search, it is discovered that Vice President Wallace was captured in Boston mere hours after the invasion began. He was trying to rally the fleeing civilians before a squad of elite panzergrenadiers dragged him off to their halftrack. Hartford's defenders have withdrawn to Albany, and the Concord garrison has been scattered without a fight.

Attempting to close the ring around Phliadelphia, they attack the 3/6th Tank Division, falling back after losing an entire light battalion to my company. Alas, Philadelphia's fate is doom! Their main attack proceeds, and the city is taken. Few of the defenders live to tell the tale. Serving in a rearguard capacity, the 81/6 Infantry is surrounded and captured inside the city. The last squad standing is destroyed when a stray shell topples the statue of Ben Franklin right onto it. Thousands of men and large amounts of equipment are lost, but the tanks manage to escape with no losses. New York City is now surrounded from all sides.

The Panama canal garrison reports that their recon aircraft have sighted Brazilian armies moving up through Venezuela. They are supporting Germany, and they go with the intent to capture the vital Panama Canal! The President, a mere shell of his former self, orders a mass mobilization at the urgings of his Secretary of State.
