-CA Chicago confirmed sunk, so the devastating defeat at Savo Island became a draw

-IJN losses: 2CA+1CL+4DD
-USN losses: 3 CA

In my opinion, a draw is a defeat for the Japanese. [:(]

-The aftermath. Japan still have 4 operational carriers althought only Unyo and Ryujo are intact. We still can field about 150 planes (against 160 enemy planes, according to our estimates). We lost less planes (110) than the enemy (175), but he still has two undamaged fleet carriers, but almost no CAP. We ordered the Betties to attack unescorted, increasing their range to 12 (currently they are restricted to escorted operations). If the enemy attempts to pursuit our Carriers, he will enter Betty range, and his damaged BB´s won´t give him the same protection. Unfortunately, our carriers must retreat to Shortlands. We still have hopes to save Hiyo. The other damaged CV´s aren´t in dangr of sinking. We will try to complete disembark in Gilli Gilli despite transport losses.

RE: The battle of Milne Bay

Ooops...deleted by mistake a few days. We are now in 11/16/42. The Japanese fleet retreated to Shortlands. Location and status of damaged CV´s are censored. Enemy BB South Dakota sunk as consequence of carrier battle. Our transports suffered massive losses from surface units and aircraft. The assault on Gilli Gilli failed and now the Tokyo express is rescuing our troops. Our destroyers did very well against enemy warships, sinking 5 DD´s and losing only one in one day.
