Formation settings?

Post by mllange »

It would be nice to have adjustable formation settings, especially for earlier and non-historical scenarios, (skirmish, probe, assault, etc.) Or perhaps something like this is already possible using cards scenario cards?

I think this is impossible. The feature you ask for is more a tactical thing and this is a strategical game.

I guess the retreat ratio is what your looking for?
You could set it to 5% and call that a probe.
25% and call that skirmish. Wouldnt it be the same effect.

I understand your point about the strategic versus tactical aspects of the game.  I haven't dug into the editor much yet, would it be possible to adjust subformation stats, (attack, defense, mobility, stealth, recon, etc.) using the strategy cards and then to adjust them back?  Something like this could offer at least an alternative...?

With AWAC835 suggestion you wouldn't have to go into editor. You could adjust your unit in the game as needed to do a tentative probe, an all out assault or something in between. I think the loss or retreat % adjustment would be a good way to model what you wanted.

Yes, Awacs idea is not bad and a alternate way. Sometimes i use it myself.

@Nim8or
As far as i know you can not change subformation stats by actioncards.

From what I've seen you can't directly alter the SF stats, but can alter the formations stats - Rdn changes can mostly take care of what we need here : a card giving +X readiness could be used as an attack booster.
I'm not sure if it's possible to alter some formations stats and not all though...
