the usual daily airraid from Pearl. I fear I have provided Swift with a perfect training target for his 4E bomber crews. The base force at Johnston has 16x4,7 inch DP guns with a ceiling of 25.000 but they are not effective at all against the incoming bombers at 20.000 ft. Perhaps I should bring an AA regiment with 105mm AA guns... I´m not sure it is worth it...

not amused to see a Brit sub in the same hex as my surface TF that acts as an escort for my invasion TF of Java... what´s really surprising once again is the fact that my BB TFs are not soaking up all the attacks of the Dutch airforce. All my troop and cargo TFs are attacked all the time. This is something that really looks good (okay, in my case it´s bad for me) and it should happen more often as normally you see 98% of the bombers going after targets that can´t be hit anyway or that have an uber cap.

the attack on Batavia was disappointing also. We wanted to knock out the empty airfield to have it inoperational when my invasion TF moves close to the base. It´s just like what Göring promised the Wehrmacht before operation Seelöwe, our IJA bomber daitais can´t hold what they promised and instead of hitting the airfield they bomb a coconut farm in the jungle 30km away from Batavia...

Second attack and our Cap was already halfed. Nevertheless our figthers take a toll on the Dutch escorts. We damage a dozen bombers but none is lost... [:@] would have liked to see those T IVa torp bombers being shot down as those are the ones I fear the most. The torp bombers were bombing and even though they are listed as carrying a 250kg AP bomb at extended range one hit the Mutsu with a 500lb GP bomb... how can that happen? Something wrong??

so far it seems if there are 3 mines somewhere then an AK of mine will pick up 2 of them... mine field disappeared today... the AK sunk of course...

a (or probably more) carrier (s) pop up two hexes North of Johnston!! My patrols must have been dreaming during the day, this attack came completely unexpected! Bold move but what´s the reason behind this? I haven´t spotted an invasion TF either and to be honest, such a move is just asking for an Allied disaster! We have now 150 bombers at Johnston with 27 Zeroes as escorts, so the only thing that can save the Allied carrier(s) would be bad weather (thunderstorms in the weather forecast) or the 35 search planes not finding the TF...

I would say chances are 60:40 to achieve something tomorrow, but normally I need 90:10 odds that the dice rolls in my direction... [;)]

To take away the surprise: we have not seen a complete Allied disaster this turn! The reason is simple: Mr. Swift is the luckiest man alive while I hit the usual BS dice roll... AM phase: a big cloud over Johnston! [8|] But hey! PM phase: sunshine, CV TF spotted... spotted again... and again... CV Saratoga spotted... hey in one minute I will see a 27 Zero, 100+ Betty/Nell strike against Allied carriers and one, no two, no, perhaps 3 carriers will be sunk...

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

despite perfect supply, support and weather, the high experienced bombers just didn´t take off... for what reason?? At a range of 8... even with escorts... against the most important targets...

this just sucks... it´s just completely amazing to me how my opponent can come away with such a move... [8|]
