Post by Roger Neilson II »

Just upgraded to Vista home premium, first attempt to run WITP has it terminate with a fatal error 200.

Virtually anytime something like this happens - i would recommend deinstalling and then reinstalling.

So far, most VISTA issues seem to be security related.

Tell me about it, talk about paranoia.

Ok, sorted my Error 200. I run my actual games as separate installs on another drive. I assumed that I'd have to install a 'vanilla' copy so it would pick up its registry again..... then looked to see the number of patches I would need to run - would take all day. Ran very first one V1. Tried, just as an experiment, to run one of my actual games - no problem. So it looks like it was just a registry entry that is common to all versions.

Handy to know.

Actually, you should only have to install 2 patches to get to current version: 1.804 comprehensive, then 1.806 (revised). This should get you there relatively quickly.
