...a COTA approach to the Malaya/Singapore campaign of 1941-1942. Been reading a lot about this campaign recently and, with a preponderance of battalion and brigade actions and lots of emphasis on terrain and the difficulty in maintaining LOC via a fragile radio net, it would be a perfect setting for a future COTA engined game. I'm sure there's a long wish list for future games already, but here's hoping this might find its way on there and to fruition at some point.

That'd be great.  I just got the game a few days ago myself, and have instantly begun wishing for this game engine coupled with a fully featured OOB (estab) editor with weapons databases from all the countries under the sun.  It's already got a scenario and map editor, though I haven't really explored either yet.

With minor (conceptually anyhow) tweaking, I could see this engine being able to simulate any real or hypothetical conflict from early-mid 19th century to now. As technology advances, the orders lag would decrease, along with regular equipment and organizational/doctrinal improvements.  As long as I've passed dreaming into hallucination, I think it'd be neat to see naval and air adaptations using the engine as well...and, and 3D terrain model and unit graphics...and a strategic level- you know, high level command stuff using the large-scale maps that you'd need anyhow for the naval/air stuff I already mentioned...and a production system...and,...and,...[:'(]

It'd be HUGE, I tell ya, HUGE!

I'm sure that Panther would love to have the schedule and budget to exploit this marvelous simulation to it's fullest extent.  It'd be great to get many more gamers turned onto this game.
