Hall Of Fame Election Timeframe

Post by Frozen Stiffer »

I won't pretend to know how long it is, but I do know that there is a certain number of years that must pass after a player retires before they are eligible for entry into the Hall of Fame. Apparently, PureSim does not recognize this. As you will see in the screenshot below, fictional player Charlie Webster last played in 2013, retired in 2015 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2016. I may not be able to say what's right, but I know that's wrong.

Hey FS,

For MLB, I believe you have to be retired for at least five years before you are eligible.  Then of course then it is based on voting by some #$%#$ sports writers.

Hello, Taz!

So it's 5 years then? Thank you. I knew it was a certain amount of time, I just didn't want to guess or assume how long it was. Thanks for the info!
