RHS Levels 5 and 6.7867 comprehensive updates (final form) uploading

Post by el cid again »

We should be there: ship art is revised - some moderately important eratta detected and corrected - so we will issue a "final" update for Level 5 and 6 scenarios tomorrow (Wednesday).

Changes to air art should not require an update (we await a few image changes).

But note that after the next Matrix update we might issue a revision - assuming it is required.

The process of packaging and uploading to the primary RHS distribution list has begun.

These file sets are NOT numbered the same as Level 7 - (7.7971) because they aer NOT identical in development.
The reasons these updates are issued is because

1) We have changed some ship art pointers and wanted the standard RHS ship art set to be fully compatable with previous levels;

2) We found some eratta we did not wish to be in the final form (e.g., Ki-84 durability, Wellington endurance, BBO and EOS family I-400 air group size problem, a wholly revised Allied OB in Malaya, etc).

3) We included selected additional items (eratta or enhancements) as a courtesy.

We will NOT be updating either set again until AFTER Matrix next update. [We have reason to think this may require revisions of all file sets to be playable - and if so we will do that.]

There will be an additional standard Allied ship art update, and a revised aircraft art update for EOS, but neither will prevent these files from working as is. Indeed, art can be changed DURING an ongoing game - and as soon as you restert it will take effect. There will not be additional maps or pwhex files for these Levels.

The changes in this file set are worth having, but do not require existing games be restarted.
