Versions,upgrades and downloads?!!?

I have v. 1 I can wait for v.3 in October PC Gamer. BUT is that v.3 really the version 4 that is now the newest version, or is it an obsolete version 3 (beta) that I have read about.
Also if it is indeed v. 4 and it comes on a disc can I just use it as if it were a new game or do I have to do some upgrading since I have version 1 right now?

A little confusing, I know.

If you get the game of the PC Gamer disk, load it as is. It is probably an early version 3.

Then get the 4.0 download and inistall it on top of the one you loaded from the PC Gamer CD. You should then be ready to roll with the latest

I am the man who knows so let me explain this verion issue.

The upgrade for SPWaW v4.0 will upgrade any version of SPWaW. If you have SPWaW v1.0+, 2.0+, 2.3+, v3.0+ or v3.0b+ it will work.

The full version will of course be the complete game and will need nothing to get it to run.

I hope I have cleard up that problem.
