Larger Fonts in WITP ?

Hello All,

I've just purchased and downloaded War in the Pacific. (Very impressive game, remind me so much of Pacific War boardgame by Victory Games) My first surprise is that the download version was still 1.50 although patches are available up to the 1.8. But anyway, my question is related to the read me file of the 1.50 release where it says that :

Clarification:
To use the new, larger font:
1) Create a shortcut from the EXE (right-click on it then drag & drop it). 2) Right-Click on the new shortcut and choose properties. 3) Add space then -altFont to the far right of the “War in the Pacific.exe" on the Target line, such as “C:\Matrix\War in the Pacific.exe -altFont"

I'm running this game on a XP based Laptop with the standard resolution for this game, however the fonts are so tiny that is almost a torture to read it considering the amount of information provided.
So my question is : is this "clarification" a way to enlarge the fonts for modern high resolution displays, and in such a case, how does it works ? or the fonts I have in the game are already enlarged ?

iirc - the font size is the technically same, but it uses a different font which is easier to read...

EDIT: [font="Arial"]This is Arial[/font]
[font="Times New Roman"]This is Times New Roman[/font]

Both were technically the same size font - but Arial is easier to read (imo) - the Times New Roman devotes much of its "space" to adding "serifs" on the characters.

Thanks rogueusmc, I've just checked your post on another thread.... It's working ok specially in window mode.
