Looking for Soviet Opponent in Russia 41 scenario.

Post by JAMiAM »

Freeboy has kindly taken it upon himself to induct me into the game, and we'll be starting a game of Russia 41 with me as the Soviets. However, I'd like to see how it goes, playing from the other side. Are there any takers who will be gentle with a AT newb?

I'd like to use the same settings for this game, as freeboy and I are using for the other. Namely, all options enabled, with the exception of the following options which should be disabled:

Shroud
Shroud Peak
Autosave
Allow Partisans
Soviet Production Advantage
Axis Production Advantage

I don't really have a problem with enabling Partisans. I was just trying to keep something of an even set of options, so that I can compare how badly I'm doing in each game. However, I'll go ahead and enable them, since you were so prompt...[;)]

That´s normal and no thing to worry about.
In winter you can pay back !

Defend behind rivers, blow up bridges.
Build up compact defenses in front of Moscow and Leningrad.
Upgrade to level II infantry at least. Use heavy forest and swamps for defense.
Build fortifications.
Oh, there are many things to do [:)]

Seille,

I'm doing or trying to do most of what you mentioned.... just not easy... like it really was back then...

Damn Russian engineers couldn't blow a bridge with nuke this turn!!!! Trying to run behind rivers but when the Germans pound on you it don't leave much action points to get away....

Ah well... great fun!

Turn sent.....

Yes, it´s not easy in the first turns.
Try to save many of your troops as possible.
Don´t send fresh troops immediately into fire when possible.
Let them entrench behind your lines and let them gain some experience.

Well... it's still on going....

It's approaching the Summer of '42 and I'm not looking forward to the comming Axis offensive.....

The Hun is within 4 or 5 hexes of Moscow, Sevastipol(sp?) is completely cutoff, Leningrad is almost cutoff, pressure is building on Stalingrad.... in other words not too good for Mother Russia....

If I can weather the coming storm I might have a chance as I have some large formations lumbering around.... If I can make it until '43 Siberian production boost then it'll be a different ball game....er... hockey game....

Leningrad fell! Noose tightening around Moscow. Stalingrad being shelled. Sevastipol being shelled. German summer offensive about to start....[:(]

Small Russian offensive launched to rescue Sevastipol...[:)]

It is finished! I have let the Russian people down.

Moscow fell in July, 1942. Everywhere the Russian forces are pressed hard and no real chance of re-grouping...

It was a fun game and I learned a lot. JAMiAM is a great opponent and a great player to PBEM with.

Can't wait to get my revenge![:@][:D]

As were you, Vance. Thanks again for a great game. Now, time to take care of Matt (freeboy) and Juergen (seille), who have been patiently waiting for their turns.

When you're ready for revenge, let me know.
