Default Options w/1.02B

Post by decaro »

I didn't quite know where to post this as the 1.02 beta patch is unofficial.

After patching over 1.01, CaW crashed on loading. I used the task manager to get out, and then on the second attempt it crashed again, but this time a msg box asked if I wanted to restore default options, but I have no clue what these were.

Anyway I agreed, the game loaded, and it's been fun ever since. Perhaps patching over a fresh install was preferable?

Anyway CaW's graphics are improved, there are more features and a new scenario; so far, so good.

Thanks for the report Joe, we'll see if we can duplicate. Posting here is fine, we're hoping for feedback on this public beta before it goes official.

RE: Default Options w/1.02B

After playing my second CaW game I just realized what exactly the (default) options were: the buttons to the lower right that control weather, hexs, subs, scouts, etc. These were turned off, and had to be turned on to see clouds, etc.

I then restarted the game and it loaded w/o incident, although the options I had just turned on were now off; a minor annoyance, but apparently the game won't load on my system w/these options "on". I didn't have this problem @ v. 1.01

My system is WinXP, Dell Demension E5100 w/dual core and 1 GB Ram, ATIx600 hypermemory 256 MB card

Also:
-- Task Force screen won't close w/the "x" in the upper rt hand corner (you have to hit the button on the bottom to open and close it).
-- The a/c strike reports msg boxes usually don't stay on the screen long enough to get a good look at them!
