Wandering Units

Close Combat - Cross of Iron is based on Atomic Games award Winning Close Combat Series. Close Combat is a real time game were you take command of German or Soviet squads on the Eastern Front during World War II. This version is being developed by CSO Simtek and will include many new features and improvements.

Wandering Units

Has anyone else experienced the constant annoyance of having untis that are ordered to ambush or defend after a while they just decide to start wandering in the direction of the enemy, usually getting themselves killed? I don't know how many tanks I have lost when yhey decide to wander into no mans land when I am managing another part of the battle and WAM!! they are dead (god forbid should they shoot at somethign in the process). All movable units have done this, even mortar units.

I've only been playing as the germans so far. Would more leaders prevent this? That would be a pain as we have so few unit slots to begin with I would hate to waste them on more leaders.

Has anyone noticed this in the new Modern version? If so I will probably pass on it.

Just make sure that "Never act on initiative" is set for your side and they won't do this anymore.
