Never thought of that..

Post by Belisarius »

One more of those things I've never really thought about;

When deploying, is there some way you can control when and where reinforcements are coming? In one battle, I have quite a few units from my core force suddenly listed as reinforcements, due to arrive 1/3 into the battle. :confused: I'd like to have them appear, say, NOW. Why weren't they in the field?

#2: Can I call in extra reinforcements even if I spent all points in the original buy session? It sounds unreasonable, but...

If you are refering to games vs a human, I believe they always come in on the first reinforcement hex. You can call reinforcements at any time on the HQ screen.

Lets say you start with 6000 points. Reinforcements can be called equal to 20% of your points. So, you could call in 1200 points of reinforcements (grand total 7200 point force). They will arrive after a few turns. Your opponent automatically recieves points equal to 25% of whatever you called in, just as if they were killed. Plus, he will recieve points if he really does kill any of them.

I believe you can call in three times for reinforcements, but not spend more than the 20% total (i.e. 3 smaller groups)

Then it makes sense - you can call in reinforcements, if you think the gain from the extra units will make up for the points 'given' to the opponent. :p

I didn't realize you two were in a game at the moment. So much the better.

Weren't YOU the one who once suggested that I don't tell all MY secrets?

I have started reading them - and they are a high point of my day now. :D

I just don't seem to have much in the way of comments whilst you guys are pounding each other. :)

Perhaps some day Goblin, When you don't have half the forum chewing on you - you and I can 'give it a go'. I'd like that. :D

Hey Cap,
you up for a game? All options on tho, including C&C. Don't know why most of the ppl here play without it. Tell me if interested.

Not that I believe an eventual extra company of PzIV's in your rear is gonna make a difference in this battle. :rolleyes: :(

Capt,

Yes! I would enjoy that, as soon as I clear up some of these battles. Only place I know that the people beat up on you when they like you!

If you are playing on a custom map and the reinforcement flags are not in a cluster, you can order a single low cost unit before your main force of reinforcements to 'bump' their arival up to the flag that you want. And it never hurts to save enough points to get some transport toward the end of the game.
