I know it's out there.............

Post by IanLister »

Wake Island before the IJN arrived, Midway while the PBYs were out running their search patterns, the gun directors and lookout stations of US ships in the darkness of Ironbottom Sound.......all just waiting for the gates of hell to open. Well, we all know UV is out there somewhere, that any second our lives will be taken over by the maelstrom of tension and excitement of playing what is potentially the best serious computer game of all time.....and all we can do is wait. Here's what I've done:

My daughter is manning the search radar which can detect express delivery vans up to thirty miles away in the right weather conditions.

My son has been loading and manning the rapid-fire close range keyboard and installation weapons - when UV appears we'll be ready for it.

My wife has been bought off with a new TV and her choice of summer holiday ( not for too long obviously - I don't have a notebook PC), so there shouldn't be too many 5th columnists fighting the enemy cause ("Are you coming to bed this week?" "You should have married the computer, not me!" - just when you're trying to concentrate!!!!!).

I've done more advance planning for work than I do when the school inspectors are on the way, so I'll have all the time I need.

My brother (like me a Pacific War fanatic) has arranged to take 3 weeks summer holiday and spend it all staying with us.

I think we're ready.

Come on UV, do your worst. We can handle it.

Did I write this? My god, the waiting has driven me completely mad!:D ;) :D
