Hehehehe, I can't say things have been bad lately[:)]

Raver will now turn to Australia. In fact, he already has. Last turn included a CV air strike on Sydney airfields. Damage is above moderate, but I have chosen not to contest the Hellcats this time. Flak magaged to shoot down 15 bombers[:D]
Invasion seems imminent. Reconquista is about to begin. Raver's coming home.

BTW, Raver's CVs appeared again off the coast near Sydney, bombed Newcastle, and mysteriously dissappeared. Again. I think Raver's an AI and he's in a loop.[:D]

We got stuck ina groundhog loop that has taken a day to fix (i.e. I see the same turns when I open the file).  Game is back on now with Australia just about to be brought back into the fold.   [8D]

Things are on hold while Honda fixes his PC....................EDIT His PC is now running and  he has re-installed WiTP but is now getting CTD when he runs a turn.  Apparently it seems to CTD when a large airstrike is palyed.   Honda is seeking help in the support  forum.

Australia liberated !

Post by Raverdave »

In the first steps towards liberating Australia from the evil yoke of the jap empire, Hobart has been won back in an un-opposed landing by Allied troops today. For the last ten days brave Mine sweeping ships have been clearing the sea lanes of the thousands of indiscriminately laid mines. A crew member of one of the mine sweepers has said that the mines were so think "you could walk across the Derwent river".

The lack of opposition, while welcomed by the troops hitting the beaches, is a cause for concern for allied leaders who were hoping to pin down the japs and inflict some causalities.
"If we don't fight japs now, we will simply have to fight them latter" said an un-named source within Allied HQ, "better to get it over with now".

With Hobart now re-taken the road is open to clear the rest of Tasmania and then launch an operation to retake Geelong and Melbourne. The allies time table to retake Australia by the end of '43 is now looking to be an achievable goal.

Interesting.

Honda has either completely pulled out of Australia so he can build up defenses somewhere else, or he's got a defensive line somewhere in Australia and you'll hit it as some point.

Yup....my thoughts as well. Gotta say that I would be surprised if he simply gives Austraila up without a fight. The problem is that Australia is a very poor place to defend. it is easy to leap-frog past a city (say Sydney) and hit Brisbane from the sea, thus cut off Sydney.

I've got a LOT of sub up the Eastern seaboard in case he is looking to pull troops out (if he has not already done so).

However intel shows the following based around Australia:

16th AA Regiment is located at Sydney.
51st AA Regiment is located at Sydney.
50th Heavy AA Battalion is located at Sydney.
5th Division is located at Sydney.
146th IJA Base Force is located at Sydney.
21st Mixed Brigade is located at Sydney.
145th IJA Base Force is located at Sydney.

13th Ind. Brigade is located at Perth.
Ikaiei SNLF is located at Perth.
23rd Mixed Brigade is located at Perth.
25th Army is located at Perth.
48th Division is located at Perth.
65th Brigade is located at Perth.

4th Division is located at Adelaide.
21st Division is located at Adelaide.
2nd Division is located at Adelaide

28th Special Base Force is located at Darwin

Adelaide is rather well defended for some reason [&:]

The RAF in conjunction with the USAAF launched a sweep over Bombay today with some good results.  This is welcome news to for the RAF generals who have been struggling to get a handle on the Japs in India since the war began.  Air to air losses were about 2 to 1 in the Allies favour and this has been taken as a sign that the war in the east has turned a corner.

Meanwhile the allies continue to expand their foot hold in Hobart, and as of yet, there is no sign of either jap resistance or counter-attack.

RE: Australia liberated !

Post by Raverdave »

The push to clear Australia continues, with all of Tasmania now liberated !  Meanwhile the jap home Islands suffer two devastating air raids on Paramushiro Jima.  Over two hundred jap air craft are destroyed either in the air or on the ground.  The emperor must not be pleased.
