British plans for amphibious landing in Belgium 1917

From time to time on this forum the subject crops up why didn't the British invade Germany, where should amphibious landings be allowed, etc.

the article at the link below gives a really interesting insight into planning for an amphibious landing in Belgium to be done in conjunction with a land offensive.

It was going to be only 1 division, and the whole affair was intended to push the Germans back only 4 1/2 miles (7km) and so bring Ostend within range of allied artillery and make it untenable as a u-boat port, but it's an fascinating read on what the Brits had learned by late 1916-early 1917
