Editor Screenshots

Post by Erik Rutins »

After some requests in the chat and elsewhere, here are some screenshots of the database editor that ships with UV. While this does not allow you to adjust the core data, to avoid cheating possibilities, it allows the creation of modified scenarios and the editing of pretty much all unit data. This is an unsupported feature of UV, but you are free to use it to tinker and adjust as you wish for your own custom scenarios.

Also mentioned in the chat were the two new scenarios we'll be releasing for UV. These will cover situations where the Royal Navy becomes more heavily involved due to US losses in the theater. I'll let Rich discuss these at further length if he wishes.

Unfortunately, we all stuck around so long chatting (after midnight EST) that the chat server wiped out the logs before Dave had a chance to save them. We'll make sure that doesn't happen in our next chat. Sorry to all those who missed it, we had every intention of posting that transcript.

Anyhow, here's the first of five shots - basically in order by the buttons on the editor screen.

Regards,

- Erik

Hi!

Good thing I did not leave this forum when I heard that UV would not ship today. Erik sure knows how to keep the crowd happy. As happy as one can be without the game that is.

many thanks

Does that also mean that the editor isn't mentioned in the manual?

Thanks alot for the screenies! Nice and clean editor, I will surely tinker around with it. :)

Though it seems not very difficult to figure out most of the templates, it would still be nice if there would be at least a short manual for it. I'm sure it would not need more than 2-3 pages or so. E.g. I do not want to have to try a zillion times to figure out the range and scale of the "delay"-value if this could be explained in a single sentence. :)

Base Numbers

Also a list of what bases the base numbers refer to (on the last screen).

Thanks for the screen shots. Wow! Looks like UV is going to be a total hit. I'm glad I pre-ordered. Hope to see the game at my doorstep in the next couple of days:D :)
