the old story... sub laid mines and the routine for it is just Swift is smart enough to know that I have to pass Georgetown and Victoria Point when using the shipping lanes to Rangoon, if I don´t set a "waypoint" [8|]. Therefore he has placed 12 [8|] sub laid mines at both bases. Now my ships P A S S through the hex - even with MSWs as I know he ´s laid mines there - and Scotty beam me up, the mines jump from the harbour entrance out into the Indian Ocean to hit one of my APs... 11 out of 12 mines were cleared, the last one decides to hit one of my merchants...

no, not that you think I didn´t know that there are sub laid mines at Rangoon. Trusty laid them a couple of turns ago and since then there have been half a dozen MSW searching for mines at Rangoon (no not docked). A TF comes in and finds one of the perhaps 10 mines... sub laid mine routine = I know how much damage mines did to the Japanese later in the war so I don´t want to say this is sh*t, I´m only comparing the dozen sub laid mines to minefields laid by MLs and that are in the thousands...[8|]

this is around New Caledonia. The surprise is out of the box! A big invasion TF covered by KB and several other surface and ASW TFs are closing in on New Caledonia. Goal is to kill off those 25.000 troops sitting at Noumea. All our future operations (if there will be any) will have the goal of destroying as many Allied ground units as possible... Proteus sunk...

wow, this result was surprising! We take down a fort level and even though we suffer horrendous numbers of casualties we achieve a 3:1! We will rest a couple of turns and then will order a shock attack. Even if we don´t take the base, at least the forts should then be at 0.

another 3 bomber raid. The high number of Zeroes is because we swapped out the damaged Akagi (sys at 34 now) and Soryu (sys already at 11 now) with 3 CVLs... this is the maximum Cap as I´ve set it to 90 - I expect only defensive work for KB - and I can´t put more carriers into one hex with our stacking limit of 450 carrier based aircraft.

we fly in paras with 48 Tinas from Lunga and take the empty base. Next turn all my troops will disembark here, 54 Zeroes will fly CAP over the base, KB will pursue a single AK fleeing to the South (stupid I know... ). The only real threat we see at the moment are the mines at Koumac and half a dozen of PTs at Noumea...
