Game Lockup in December 1808

I have a game lockup occurring in the Spanish Diplomacy phase in Dec 1808.

At the time of the lockup I (France) was at war with Spain and sitting on Madrid with 3 Corps. I had not yet broken into the city but had erradicated the Spanish army the turn before.

Just as a note, I was not getting any appearance of the Spanish resistance.

When I began the reboot of my computer to get out of the lockup a small box became visible that said, "unable to open file". I have no idea if this is related or not.

Can you duplicate this from a save file?

Yes, I can.  I rebooted the computer and repeated the last phase.  The computer locked up again.
 
I can send you the file if you need/want it.  Just let me know.

Hi,

I went back to the save game and attempted to redo the turn exactly the same as before --- unfortunately I must have done something different because it didn't lock up this time. In fact, Spain surrendered during that phase.

I have had other instances where things don't happen the same even with the same entries. For instance I started up the game yesterday and all the buttons in the lower left were missing. I went completely out of the game and re-entered and they were back.

Strange...
