RHS Level 7 map check (for RHSCAIO)
Sorry if it has already been asked before, but since I am not used to RHS maps and I see some weird occurences with the sea lines hexes, I just want to check if I installed the right files (for MAP only) in the right order.
a) RHS spraut v.7791 panels non-hex.zip (extracted in ART file)
b) RHS spraut v.7 map panels 06-8.zip (extracted in ART file)
c) Latest Pdhex.dat file (deleted the old file and renamed the Standard one to Pdhex.dat
Did I do everything right? [&:]
Thanks!

pwhex.dat?

The best person to answer this is CobraAus. Probably the second best is Mifune. But it looks right to me.
Originally I invested in scanners and software to do art - but I never got into it - because Cobra did it - and so superbly. Not having done any of it, I barely know about it.

RE: RHS Level 7 map check (for RHSCAIO)
Allright, will wait for CobraAus' input. Things seemed to be fine the first time I checked yesterday, the game and the scenario logged in without any problem, but I've seen a few weird things (like sea line hexes passing over the Matrixgames logo), so because of my inexperience I want to check.
Also, is it normal that the bases in the Madagascar (Durban+Axis Vichy bases) are only bases located on sea hexes, without any delinearing limits to separate them from the rest of the map? If it is indeed correct, must I move hex by hex in this area as instructed in the RHS Handbook?
Thanks!

You had typed "pdhex.dat" in your question - hopefully not in your rename - should be "pwhex.dat"

Good call. Will check that when I'm back home tonight.

Cobra has been missing in action for over a month now. Hope he is ok. He's no spring chicken.

Drakken I renamed the pwhex files so it is easier to tell the different levels apart. The pwhex files are locted at http://rhs.akdreemer.com/RHS%20Scenario ... at%20file/ If you are still having troubles feel free to contact me either by this thread, PM or e-mail.

Durban has a bit of land in its hex. Magagascar should look normal - and cities like Diego Suarez are NOT in sea hexes. If this isn't the case, you have the wrong art panels for Level 7.

Here are two pictures I have taken from the current map: One for Durban and the other for the Panama Area. Something is then clearly wrong.

I also checked the pwhex.dat file, and I had named it correctly. So that wasn't the problem.
Reinstalled it from Mifune's link, though. I downloaded the Level 7 file and renamed the Standard one, but the problem is still there. So I can confirm it is definitely not a pwhex.dat file problem.

You are missing some art panels. Check that you have correctly unzipped and overwrited the WITPN0x.bmp files into the ART directory

This is correct. I don't know the map panel numbers off the top of my head - but they are the lower left and lower right panels. If identified we can send them to you. If they are posted wrong on the RHS site Mifune can correct that. You were right to say it looks wrong: it IS wrong. You have the RIGHT pwhex file. You have the wrong art - in about two cases - not most cases.

Map panels 15 and 19 need to be corrected to the Level 7 standard.

That is probable, I think. I did a cursory check of the zip file before leaving for work and the tiles 15 and 19 were indeed there, with lands in Madagascar and Panama. I do not understand why these tiles weren't extracted to the ART folder, though.
Will extract them again when I come back home today. Hopefully it will work this time.

I don't know. Extract what you have. Do they look right?

RE: RHS Level 7 map check (for RHSCAIO)
Extracted from the file RHS spraut v.7791 panels non-hex.zip in ART file, and the problem remains: it doesn't read these tiles.
I'm out of ideas. I did everything right, even overwrite each bmp file individually. [&:]

Maybe we have the wrong files posted. Mifune will repost them. Meanwhile I will send you the right ones - if I have an address.
